Past future perfect continuous tense adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja untuk menyatakan suatu aksi atau situasi imajiner sedang berlangsung pada titik tertentu atau selama periode tertentu di masa lampau.

Bentuk kata kerja ini digunakan padaperfect continuous conditional sentence. Mirip dengan conditional sentence type 3 ‘biasa’, namun berbeda di bagian ‘result’ karena tidak menggunakan past future perfect melainkan past future perfect continuous tense (if + past perfect, past future perfect continuous tense).

Rumus Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense

Past future perfect continuous tense dibentuk dengan auxiliary verb would, have, beendan present participle (v1-ing). 

Secara umum past future perfect continuous tense hanya terjadi pada aksi berupa dynamic verb, tidak stative verb karena umumnya hanya dynamic verb yang memiliki bentuk continuous. [Baca: Stative Verb dengan Bentuk Progressive]

(Jika kita telah mengatur tank-tank tersebut dengan cara yan benar, air akan telah mengalir dari tangki X ke dalam tangki Y dengan laju konstan.)	but we didn’t set them in a proper way
Nisa and her family would have been living at their new house if its construction had finished. (Nisa dan keluargaya akan telah menempati rumah baru mereka jika konstruksinya sudah selesai.)	but its construction didn’t finish (tapi konstruksinya tidak selesai)

Past Future Perfect Tense

Past future perfect tense adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja untuk membicarakan aktivitas yang tidak terjadi, mungkin terjadi, atau sebenarnya dapat dilakukan namun tidak berhasil dilakukan di masa lampau.

Bentuk ini biasa digunakan pada main clause dari conditional sentence type 3.

Rumus Past Future Perfect Tense

Past future perfect tense dibentuk dengan auxiliary verb would/should/could/may/might/must dan have, dan past participle (verb-3). Have digunakan baik untuk singular maupun plural subject. Sedangkan past participle dapat berupa regular atau irregular verb.

Past future perfect tense (would) digunakan pada conditional sentence type 3 (kalimat pengandaian) untuk membicarakan sesuatu yang tidak terjadi.	If you had saved your jewelry and foreign currency in a safety deposit box, they wouldn’t have gone. (Jika kamu telah menyimpan perhiasan dan mata uang asingmu di safety deposit box, mereka tidak akan hilang.)
Past future perfect tense  (should) digunakan ketika ingin membicarakan past event yang tidak terjadi tetapi seharusnya terjadi.	You should have recieved your refund by now. (Kamu seharusnya sudah menerima pengembalian dana.)
Past future perfect tense   (could) untuk membicarakan hal yang dapat dilakukan di masa lalu namun tidak dilakukan atau tidak berhasil dilakukan.	I could have bought that car, but I prefered to save money and wait for the manual version. (Saya dapat sudah membeli mobil itu, tapi saya pilih untuk menyimpan uang dan menunggu versi manualnya.)
Past future perfect tense   (may/might/could) untuk membicarakan kemungkinan di masa lampau.	The traveler looks far from happy. He may have waitedfor his flight for hours. (Pelancong itu kelihatan jauh dari bahagia. Dia mungkin telah menunggu penerbangannya selama berjam-jam.)

Past future continuous tense adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja untuk menyatakan aksi atau situasi imajiner yang sedang berlangsung apabila unreal condition-nya terpenuhi (present continuous conditional ~ conditional sentence type 2 dengan continuous tense).

Rumus Past Future Continuous Tense

Past future continuous tense dibentuk dengan auxiliary verb would ataushould dan be, dan present participle. Secara umum future continuous tense umumnya hanya terjadi pada aksi berupa dynamic verb, tidak stative verb karena umumnya hanya dynamic verb yang memiliki bentuk continuous

Past Future Tense

Past future tense atau “future in the past” adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja untuk membicarakan masa depan dari perspektif masa lalu.

Lebih spesifik, bentuk ini digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu aksi yang akan dilakukan, baik secara sukarela maupun yang direncanakan, membuat prediksi, dan membuat janji di masa depan pada saat berada di masa lalu. Past future tense sering digunakan pada reported speech.

Rumus Past Future Tense

Past future tense dibentuk dari modal “would” dan bare infinitive atau dibentuk dari auxiliary verb “be” (was, were), present participle “going”, dan infinitive. Apa itu infinitive? Infinitive merupakan particle “to” + bare infinitive.

Dengan demikian rumus past future tense untuk kalimat positif, negatif, dan interogatif adalah sebagai berikut.

Past future tense untuk menyatakan suatu aksi yang akan dilakukan secara sukarela (would).	I knew you would prepare all the things for the meeting. (Saya tau kamu akan mempersiapkan segala hal untuk pertemuan tersebut.)
Past future tense untuk menyatakan aksi yang direncanakan (was/were going to).	They told that they were going to visit Lombok. (Mereka mengatakan bahwa mereka akan mengunjungi Lombok.)
	I thought she was going to enroll the course. (Saya pikir dia akan mendaftar kursus tersebut.)
Past future tense untuk dapat digunakan untuk membuat janji (would).	My uncle told me that he would come on time. (Paman saya mengatakan pada saya bahwa dia akan datang tepat waktu.)
	She promised she would give me a box of banana cake. (Dia berjanji dia akan memberi saya sekotak bolu pisang.)
Past future tense untuk dapat digunakan untuk membuat prediksi (would & was/were going to).	My father had a strong feeling that the weather would be warm. (Ayah saya punya perasaan kuat bahwa cuaca akan hangat.)
	I thought that the authorities were going to investigateall allegations of fraud. (Saya pikir otoritas itu akan menyelidiki semua dugaan penipuan.)

Bentuk Pasif dari Past Future Tense

Rumus bentuk pasif dari past future tense adalah sebagai berikut.

S + would + be + Verb-3 / Past Participle

atau

S + was/were + going to + be +  Verb-3 / Past Participle

Signals: For + duration (a month, a year, a week) dapat digunakan untuk menyatakan durasi aksi yang panjang, sedangkan by the end of …(next month, next week, next year),when + clause (you arrive), before + clause/noun (midnight, he comes) untuk membicarakan aksi di masa depan yang terjadi ketika aksi future perfect continuous tense telah terjadi beberapa lama.	He will have been studying in Cairo for a year by the end of next month. (Dia akan telah belajar di Kairo selama setahun pada akhir bulan depan.)
	Andra will have been waiting for three months when the corn is ready to harvest. (Andra akan telah menunggu selama tiga bulan ketika jagung siap panen.)
